Dårlig retningssans / Bad sense of direction

På leting etter riktig dør i blokka / Searchinig for the right door in the block of flats

English:

We made plans to go to Mijas Pueblo for the evening, a nice mountain village a short drive from where I live in Spain. The day was spent relaxing on the terrace in the sun. I was charging my batteries. I needed to energize beforehand, as we would be walking around in Mijas Pueblo for a couple of hours.

As we were driving out of the garage Mary suddenly remembered that she had forgotten to bring her cardigan. I parked the car outside our block of flats so that she easily could go upstairs for it. I thought it would be a good idea if she went to pick it up herself so that I could save my energy for later, for the visit in Mijas Pueblo.

Instead of walking towards our block of flats she – much to my surprise – walked up the hill in the opposite direction. I rolled down the window and shouted at her to let her know our entrance was across the street, in the same building as the car had been parked. She understood right away what I meant. We had taken the lift up and down several times, and she knew her way around…

She used her key to open the gate. Then started walking along the balcony in the first floor. I thought that was weird, as my apartment is in the third floor… 😜 Mary had told me before that sher sense of direction is bad, but this was really bad. Again I rolled down the window to guide her. She turned. Obviously, she didn’t find the button at the lift because suddenly I saw her running up the stairs. I was astonished when I saw her walking along the balcony in the second floor. Actually, I thought she was kidding, but she wasn’t. So I had to stop her again. She went back to the stairs and finally made it to the third floor. And the right apartment. Soon she came out with her cardigan, with a big smile on her face. Contented I leaned back in the seat of the car and waited for her to come and sit. However, all of a sudden I see her walking along the balcony on the groundfloor… 😮

I had to laugh. When she finally got back to the car, carrying the cardigan, I said to her that this wasn’t “bad sense of direction but NO sense of direction”. 😂 Lucky there were noone in the two apartments she had tried to get into on her way upstairs, believing that her cardigan was hiding behind those entrance doors… She laughed as well and made jokes about me writing a blog about her bad sense of direction. So I did. 😊

Finally, we headed for Mijas Pueblo. I had been there a couple of times before and didn’t need to use the GPS in the car. I wonder if Mary was impressed by that? We had a nice trip to the mountain village in the sunset. You will see some photos attached with this blog post as proof.
